Dr. Bahareh Pahlevanzadeh currently serves as a lecturer in the School of Informatics and Cybersecurity at Technological University Dublin (TuDublin). With over a decade of substantial teaching experience and extensive research expertise, she actively participates in academic assessments within the fields of ICT and Cybersecurity in leading academic institutes. Since January 2022, she has been closely collaborating and contributing on the CYBER-SKILLS project, a national initiative partnered with MTU, UCD, UL, and USA- Virginia Tech's Commonwealth Cyber Initiative. Bahareh is a dedicated member of Women in Technology and Science Ireland (WITS) , IEEE and the Cyberskills Team in Cybersecurity. She had several years of experience in administrative roles, mentoring, supervision, technical responsibilities, and industry collaborations. Her leadership roles included serving as the Director of ICT Research and Management Department at ISC and leading the USM Research Team for the Japan-SOI-WIDE Project. She also held the position of CTO at an AIOT-based Medical Device Engineering startup company. Additionally, she made significant contributions as a Member of IPv6 Security & QoS at NAV6 Centre and as a senior member in the ICT Governance Council at prestigious international academic institutes. She worked on several Research Projects in collaboration with industrial/academic partners in the Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Iran, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and China. These projects were mainly in the area of ICT, Next Gen-Networks & Cyber security (2005-Present). Bahareh received the 2021 ISC Best Researcher Award. She has supervised /mentored more than10 PhD theses and Research Projects of master students. Her most recent book, "Data Analysis in the Cloud" published in 2021, can be used by young researchers at different academic levels. She has published more than 40 high-quality papers in refereed international journals and led international conference proceedings . She has been a reviewer for various International academic Journals (Journal of Supercomputing, IEEE Access, JIST, IJISM, JICTP, Wireless communications and mobile computing, etc.) Her research interests are centered on cybersecurity, Quality of service (QoS), and network optimization, with a specific emphasis on next-generation networks and communications within the context of Smart City, Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0.
