    Abstract

As a culturally rich country, India is known for its linguistic diversity. The country's languages translate directly into its traditions, heritage, and history. Urbanization and globalization, the influence of Western cultures and modern media have led to opportunistic situations which resulted in major languages like English. There is a decline in the use of native languages within families and societies, and this has resulted in many of the indigenous languages of India losing their potency. Over 220 languages may have been lost in the last five decades and around 600 languages come under the endangered bracket. Therefore, this study aims to preserve and improve the perception of Indian languages through storytelling. The solution 'Vāī' consists of an application and device which helps users converse in their native languages regularly to increase engagement and sustain cultural awareness sustainably.
