Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to introduce the reader to key issues and concepts in event-led development. It will also examine the role of events and festivals in destination development and the relationships between public policy, events and regeneration. The chapter will underline the impacts of events and their role in destination development by analyzing examples of physical and social development in the context of sustainable event policy. It will also evaluate different types of event-led urban regeneration goals.
