Special Issue: Europe’s energy realignment: economic and political priorities amid the Eastern divide challenge

Recent war and crisis episodes have confirmed that the geopolitics of energy is becoming part of a much deeper, more interconnected system that links political decisions to economics and has wider social, environmental and military implications. Policymakers need to acknowledge the heterogeneous economic, political, and energy systems across European countries when designing and implementing policies to address the widening Eastern European divide.
