Abstract

Showhouse is a competitive interior design television format hosted and critiqued by renowned interior designer and academic expert Neville Knott. In each standalone episode, two professional interior designers are challenged to transform two identical new-build houses into appealing show homes for prospective buyers. The designers are given six days to complete their interiors. On the seventh day, the properties are opened to the public—specifically, the intended target market—who then vote on which design they find most compelling. The series ran for five seasons, comprising eight episodes per series.
