Abstract
The room temperature phosphorescence of a series of polycyclic aromatic compounds has been investigated on two solid support matrices, alkali salt-polyacrylic acid and alkali salt-cyclomaltohexaose. The different intensities given by the different sodium and potassium salts within the surfaces should enable the various aromatic compounds to be identified in multi-component mixtures.
