Abstract
We report on transient photoconductivity in oriented trans-polyacetylene. Single gap measurements are fitted with a double exponential decay, indicative of an initial fast component followed by a slower decay. Using a cross-correlation method we have improved the time resolution, and the deconvoluted response is found to be ∼ 7 ps, from which we deduce a high initial mobility of the charge carriers.
