Abstract

We report near-infrared multiphoton absorption induced visible photoluminescence in multiwall carbon nanotube (MWNT) suspensions. Comparison is made with the photoluminescence spectrum of graphite suspensions. Intensity dependence of the integrated spectra and photoluminescence decay are investigated. MWNT show increased nonlinear behaviour and reduced thermal behaviour compared with graphite.
