Abstract
This chapter reviews a few theories on modeling the device physics of chalcogenide thin film solar cells. Several approaches are discussed, each varying in some basic assumptions related to device structure and carrier transport. All of the approaches are strong predictors of current-voltage characteristics and degradation behavior of CdTe and Cu(In,Ga)(Se,S)2 (or CIGS) chalcogenide thin film solar cells.
