Abstract
Recently, there has been an explosive growth inthe popularity of LED luminaries. Like all marketsexperiencing such expansion, it has attracted manynew manufacturers.Some of these have a reputation to uphold, but many do not.As such, it can be difficult for designers to differentiate good quality products from bad quality products.
This paper explores a set of standardised test methods andperformance criteria associated with LED luminaries.Moreover, it proposes a set of questions for discussionwithin the lighting community. These questionswould be used to interrogate manufacturer dataand aid with the determination of product quality.
