Abstract
The resonant loop antenna is examined in terms of its near-field behaviour. It is shown that the near-field wave-impedance varies considerably across the loop diameter. This has a significant effect on the matching to the human body and specific absorption rate. An uneven SAR distribution is observed in a body model.
