Abstract

This paper reports an investigation into manual work using a combination of Human Factors (HF) approaches, including task analysis, ethnography and behavior analysis. The work arose from the ManuVAR (CP-IP 211548) EU-funded research project, which aims to support manual work operations through the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) technologies. The investigation involved analysis of current manual working practices in the industrial partners’ companies. The research aimed to analyze physical, cognitive, organizational/social ergonomics and behavioral aspects of the tasks to realize the scientific foundations of the project.
