N2 - Indian architecture showcases the country's rich history and cultural diversity. In order to preserve the state’s cultural legacy, the study focuses on applying patterns in modern urban spaces that are influenced by architectural features and motifs of ancient temples. Further, it seeks to establish a link between the history and present, which supports preservation while adhering to modern standards affirming a unique and culturally rich experience for residents and tourists. The study provides an overview of Karnataka’s rich cultural history along with the meaning and significance of patterns. An extensive literature review was conducted on diverse trends seen in India, particularly in the state of Karnataka, as well as in other parts of the world. It focused on how different architectural styles developed in Karnataka and the way traditional ideas have been adapted into new buildings. A market study of existing trends and products was performed to analyse the research gaps alongside an ethnographic study was done in a temple to observe the Vijayanagara style of temple architecture. Additionally, interviews were conducted to gather diverse insights from the general public. Following, a brief was formulated using design processes such as mind mapping, concept generation, and mood boards. Based on this, an integrated solution is designed including patterns, branding, and mockups. The result of this study meticulously crafts the glory of Karnataka, empowering the identity of people.
