Abstract

An analysis and performance evaluation of several macrobending high-bend loss fiber based filters utilizing the well-known Whispering Gallery mode (WGM) effect is investigated and presented. Experimental results indicate that the WGM spectra of the macrobend fibre can be utilized for different types of optical filters by adjusting the bending diameter and the length of the fiber loop.
