Abstract
An analysis of a broadband square planar monopole is presented. The frequency corresponding to the lower edge of the impedance bandwidth may be found by using a simple formula, based on an equivalent cylindrical monopole. To obtain the upper edge frequency accurately, a method-of-moments analysis which employs wire gridding is required.
