Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to cover the basic principles of holographic sensing and the type of sensors that have been developed during the past two decades. The book chapter analyzes and compares different holographic sensor platforms. Methods for fabrication of holographic sensors and different methods for their functionalization are presented. The current challenges in holographic sensors research are identified, and approaches offering solutions to these challenges are discussed in the context of recent advances.
