Abstract

This lecture-recital explores the contemporary music of Ireland in the twentieth first-century through a survey and discussion of works written for concert harp by Michael Alcorn, John Buckley, Jason E. Geistweidt, Philip Hammond, Deirdre McKay and Ian Wilson. All works explore new soundscapes, set challenges, and require a level of active engagement from both the performer and the listener.
