Abstract

This chapter critically discusses and analyzes global citizenship and transformational change. It also analyzes how the global events industry has grown phenomenally to become a significant contributor to the world economy. It investigates how global citizenship and events can play an important part in addressing global issues and highlights how sport events and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) can play significant roles in the development of global citizenship in terms of global competencies, social responsibility and civic activism.
