Abstract

This erratum corrects the second last paragraph in the Discussion section of the above article [1]. In the light of further evaluation of the clinical data of the ENIGMA study [2, 3], the authors became aware of a necessary adjustment to the final sentence of the second last paragraph of the Discussion section (4). This should read; “In this context, the extreme cases noted in the matched patients' analysis reveals a potentially significant trend, indicating that the patients which registered the lowest baseline levels of carotenoids registered the highest impact of the supplementation regimen, whereas the patients which had the highest levels of baseline carotenoids were impacted least by supplementation.” This modification does not change the paper's results.
