Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Food consumption patterns have changed profoundly over the last 50 years as the world population continues to rise. At the same time, malnutrition still exists in many countries of the world as undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and overweight and obesity. This paper will examine recent food consumption patterns as well as the principal drivers of these changes in food consumption. In order to improve food and nutrition security in a sustainable manner, it is necessary to have a clear picture of the changing food patterns not just globally but also for different regions and countries of the world.
