Abstract
Process innovation has come into sharper focus in recent years with the demand of increased global competition coupled with recessionary effects. This paper reviews the difference between two separate manufacturing factories of a large multinational corporation within the ICT sector, both equally exposed to the recession. It specifically examines the level of process innovation along with the main influencing factors that were identified by two large manufacturing facilities and sets out a set of management propositions that support sustainable process innovation. For confidentiality reasons the factories will be referred to as Westport and Southport.
