Abstract
Always Travelling on Old Roads is a collage of text, photography, texture, geometry: rituals and portals conjuring serendipitous collisions.
"A lot of the writing came out of things I'd written to perform at an open mike night here in Margate. The work speaks about the everyday and the magickal and how they entwine. Snatches of speech from news, from radio, horror and beauty, slogans, misheard conversations, remembered dreams- the kinds o things I've been writing about since i was first inspired by poetry, typography and music. I got very ill and kept writing more as i recovered. Over about a year or so i ended up with enough individual things to be worth compiling into something for publication. They have a rhythm and a musical sense that lent them naturally to becoming concrete/visual work." Graham Wood, September 2026
