Abstract
A wideband monopole for reconfigurable multiband radio terminals was discussed. The wideband planar monopole yielded an impedance bandwidth ratio of 10:1 or greater for a return loss of 8 dB using two broadbanding techniques. It was observed that the radiation patterns indicated omnidirectional patterns for the H-plane at lower frequencies and typical monopole patterns for the E-plane cuts.
