Abstract
In recent years, crimes against women have been rising at an alarming rate in India. This paper delves into the process of creating a smartphone application for women’s safety. The app combines safety features like location tracking and emergency contacts along with providing women legal resources, feminist self-defense classes and also emphasising the importance of community support. The initial exploration involved a literature review. Primary research was then conducted through interviews and surveys. The research helped in gaining a better understanding of women’s perspectives on safety. Additionally, an analysis of existing safety applications in the market was conducted to help identify any gaps and opportunities in the domain. The paper then goes on to discuss the framework behind the application’s creation along with its implementation. The safety application strives not only to provide immediate assistance but also to foster a sense of empowerment and community among its users.
