N2 - By 2050, 68% of the population is estimated to live in urban areas, with most of the population in developing countries. This paper delves into the relationship between culture, migration, and societal dynamics in urban India. India boasts diverse cultures, beliefs, and arts, making it a unique and varied nation. Rural-rural migration within India has been happening far before industrialisation to exchange goods and services across regions. The 2011 census reported 45.36 crore migrants, comprising 37% of the population, and this number is expected to have increased. The rise of Information Technology (IT) hubs has attracted a wave of students and professionals, contributing to rural-to-urban and urban-to-urban migrations. However, cultural challenges fueled by political tensions, misinformation, and discrimination pose threats to societal harmony. The newcomers face difficulty fitting in, while the locals have difficulty accepting them as a part of their regional culture. This project aims to bridge the gap between both parties to co-exist within the same environment and contribute to each other’s well-being. Field research and interviews were done on urban-urban relocators and the locals, exploring various problem areas. The app-based solution has multiple features that make settling into new cities easier.
