    Abstract

A dual band PIFA antenna for portable devices is presented. It operates in the 450 LTE (449-461 MHz) and GSM 900 (876-922 MHz) frequency bands. The proposed antenna which has a very compact size of 7 (0.01λ0) × 7 × 70 (0.1λ0) mm3, consists of two branches and a metallic patch and is suitable to integrate in small envelopes. The low cost antenna offers high total efficiency and gain in both bands. Measured and simulated results are provided.
