Description
Happy Maths was a program designed for primary school students and teachers to address Maths Anxiety through game-based learning. Maths Anxiety, a significant negative emotional response towards mathematics, affected one in six students and was more severe in girls, contributing to gender inequality in STEM education.
The program had two components:
- **Pupil Engagement**: This included a six-week program where students interacted with educational digital games focused on mathematics. The goal was to not only enhance cognitive abilities but also to engage disadvantaged and anxious students, reducing the negative impacts of Maths Anxiety.
- **Teacher Workshops**: Educators participated in workshops to raise awareness about Maths Anxiety. These sessions aimed to empower teachers to independently implement game-based learning strategies in their classrooms.
