Ontological Support for Automated Clinical Knowledge Advisor (OSAKA)
This project is investigating an ontological support system for a person-centred health knowledge resource recommender system aimed at Alzheimer's patients and their carers.
Health recommender systems have been evolving for over forty years and play a crucial role in personalizing healthcare towards the concept of person-centred "Healthcare 4.0."
Person-centred care emphasizes the right of patients and carers to actively participate and make decisions in the care process. The research team is developing a recommender system tailored for individuals dealing with progressive chronic conditions. This system employs a staged model of Alzheimer's disease to classify and recommend educational resources in a personalized manner.
Key features include:
- Classification of informational and educational materials using an ontology of condition stages (e.g., a knowledge graph).
- Integration with a knowledge model of patient and carer context.
- Support for clinicians in providing progressive and personalized information disclosure aligned with the condition stage.
