Description
This project acquired an Isothermal Calorimeter Apparatus, featuring an eight-channel standard volume calorimeter and air thermostat, to enhance CREST and TU Dublin's material research capabilities. It aimed to offer industrial partners a comprehensive testing service for cementitious materials.
The equipment was capable of testing a variety of cementitious materials during hydration. Each channel consisted of slots for inserting a cement paste sample and a reference sample. The apparatus monitored any heat differences between the sample and its surroundings, with data automatically collected using a PC. This equipment provided CREST and TU Dublin with testing capabilities beyond their previous facilities.
