European Case Study Alliance

    Project Details

    Description

The European CAse Study Alliance (ECASA) developed an innovative approach integrating case-based learning, teaching, and research for Higher Education Institutions, especially in business and management studies. The project implemented the 'Integrated Case Method,' enhancing academics' skills in case research, writing, and teaching. Educators from various disciplines were trained to conduct real-life case research and convert insights into teaching materials.

The project fostered excellence in teaching and skills development, bridging academia and the business environment. By participating in this knowledge transfer, case teachers improved the application of case methods in curriculum development.

The results produced by ECASA partners were shared as Open Educational Resources on an online platform, aiming to establish a European network for integrated case research and teaching. This platform facilitated the exchange of information among students, teachers, and business partners, offering academic articles, videos, and blogs about case research and teaching.

Focusing on small and medium-sized innovation-driven companies with international growth strategies, the project addressed challenges like artificial intelligence, balanced growth strategies, industry 4.0, sustainability, and digitization. A cross-country analysis provided insights into business growth strategies impacted by these areas.

Aligned with the "New Skills Agenda for Europe" (2016), the project promoted innovative pedagogic concepts, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development for teachers. By integrating fields of case research and teaching, ECASA created business cases on small and medium-sized enterprises reflecting European business cultures, offering a competitive edge for European academics and SMEs in achieving growth.
