Dr. Uchenna Sampson Igwe is an accomplished academic and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 15 years of professional experience spanning academia, research, and the construction industry. He currently serves as an Academic Staff at Technological University Dublin, where he teaches and supervises undergraduate, master's, and PhD students in areas such as construction management, project planning, and quantity surveying.
Dr. Igwe holds a PhD in Quantity Surveying from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where his research focused on real-time cost control in construction projects using intelligent and digital technologies. His research interests include construction cost and schedule control, ICT applications in project management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), sustainability in construction, and green building economics.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, with works addressing emerging technologies in cost control, BIM adoption challenges, and climate-related impacts on construction. Dr. Igwe has also received several innovation awards, including Gold Medals at the Seoul International Invention Fair for his contributions to intelligent real-time project cost monitoring systems.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Igwe serves as an external examiner and peer reviewer for multiple international journals. He is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), and an Associate Member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM).
His commitment to educational excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry-integrated research continues to contribute to shaping future-ready construction professionals and innovative project control practices.
