Sylvia Healy is a lecturer in microbiology in TU Dublin since 2004. She is currently a D.Ed. researcher investigating the role of informal education in advancing microbiology literacy in society. Her research interests also include probiotics, science communication and inclusion in science.
She coordinates TU Dublin's Certificate in Independent Living Skills programme for people with intellectual disability and is year 3 tutor for the B.Sc. Bioanalysis programme. She also teaches STEM and Society in Trinity College Dublin's Centre for people with intellectual disability.
She is a past fellow of TU Dublin's Enterprise Academy and is a guest lecturer in Trinity College Dublin's M.Ed. in Science programme.
