Sue Norton’s teaching areas include literary studies, creative writing, academic writing, and reading and writing across the curriculum.

She contributes to scholarly books and journals in these areas and is Consulting Editor for Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction.  She is on the Editorial Board of Aix-Marseille Univ.'s Revue Électronique d'Études sur le Monde Anglophone and a peer reviewer for several other journals.  She is also a Director on the Board of the John Updike Society and a long-time member and former Treasurer of the Irish Association for American Studies.

In TU Dublin, Sue has served on Academic Council, College Board, the College Research Committee, and as Chair of the School of Languages, Law & Social Sciences Research Committee.  She was an External Examiner at both IADT Dun Laoghaire and Dundalk IT from 2020-2023.
