Research Interests

Patrice Behan's research interests are focused on waste valorisation for sustainable development, analytical method development using modern analytical instrumentation for a range of food residues and environmental pollutants. Of particular interest is the use of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry mass/spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Patrice has conducted research in collaboration with the Irish Marine Institute, The State Laboratory, The Environmental Protection Agency, The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, Trinity College Dublin in areas including: • LC-MS/MS Analysis of Lipophilic Marine Toxins, and LC-MS/MS analysis of veterinary drugs in various biological and feed matrices. • The use of Passive Samplers for Water Quality Monitoring of Persistent Organic Pollutants in the Environment. • Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis of sterols in well water.
