Research Interests

Dr. Nissreen Abu-Ghannam obtained her MSc and PhD in Food Science from University College Dublin (UCD) for work on processing kinetics of cereal and legumes based products. She is a senior lecturer in food science and technology and the principle investigator for a number of projects in areas related to development of plant based functional foods and microbial predictive modelling. She has been awarded funding under the: Technological Sector Research-Strand III and Strand I, Food Safety Promotion Board (Safefood) and Enterprise Ireland. Dr. Abu-Ghannam is a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (UK).
