Dr. Mohsen Omidi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Technological University Dublin, working within the ARISE project. He recently completed his PhD in Science and Engineering at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), as part of the BruBotics / Robotics & Multibody Mechanics Research Group. His doctoral research focused on Extended Reality (XR) technologies for Human-Robot Collaboration, emphasizing ergonomics, human factors, and physiological metrics to improve safety, trust, and user experience in collaborative industrial environments.
Dr. Omidi’s research interests lie at the intersection of robotics, human factors, and immersive technologies. His work explores how augmented and virtual reality interfaces can enhance human performance, situational awareness, and ergonomic safety in interaction with collaborative robots. He has developed several human-in-the-loop systems integrating physiological sensing, optimization algorithms, and XR interfaces for adaptive robot behavior.
His broader research agenda aims to advance human-centered robotics and Industry 5.0 principles, focusing on sustainable, safe, and intelligent human–robot–environment interactions.
