Professional Information

My experience as a lecturer in horticulture involves specialist knowledge for growing fresh produce and environmental management. I have a working knowledge of food science research in plant fortification, fresh produce shelf life and food safety. Since 2020, I became the Principal Investigator of Leaf No Waste project covering sustainability and food science research. This is funded by the SFI Future Innovator Prize which is worth €2million. The research involves a multidisciplinary team to examine the impact of agricultural interventions on reducing the risk of food loss along the supply chain.

My background was in project management before making the transition to horticulture and environmental conservation.
