Graduated 1989 with B.A.(Mod) in Experimental Physics from Trinity College Dublin. From 1989 to 1994, studied under the supervision of Prof. John Hegarty at the Physics Department, TCD and graduated with a PhD in May 1994 with a thesis entitled 'Exciton Dynamics in CdZnTe/ZnTe Multiple Quantum Wells'. Lecturer, School of Physics, DIT, 1996-2003 Assitant Head, School of Physics, DIT, 2003-2009 Head, School of Physics & Clinical & Optometric Sciences, TU Dublin, 2009-present Professorship: 2017 Research on applications of nanomaterials and nanostructures in solar energy devices. Research Funding: > 1 million Euro. EU FP6 Project: FULLSPECTRUM EU FP7 Project: EPHOCELL (Principal Investigator) Irish Research Council European Space Agency
