I am an economist with a PhD in Economics and currently work as Assistant Lecturer in Economics in the School of Accounting, Economics, & Finance. I am teaching Macroeconomics Theory and Policy (ECON2002) and International Finance and Monetary Policy (FNCE3005).

My research interests lie at the intersection of Energy Sustianability, Gender & Economic Inequality, and MENA-China studies. my current research focuses on China's energy dilemma, with particular attention to the challenges it faces on both the energy supply and demand sides.

A key focuse of my research is examining China's heavy dependence on energy imports from the MENA region, that experiencing significant political and socioeconomics challenges, including political instability and gender inequality. I investicate how these external dependencies and structural challenges shape China's energy security and influence its transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

More broadly, my research seeks to understand the economic, geopolitical, and social dimensions of the energy transition, with particular emphasis on the interconnected relationships between energy security, gender inequality, and sustainable development.
