Professional Information

Dr. C. M. Iftekhar Hussain is a sustainable energy technologist and a certified engineering project management professional. He has over ten years of academic research and industrial experience in the renewable energy sector. Dr. Hussain obtained PhD from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) where he worked on thermophotovoltaic systems. He joined Dublin City University as a Postdoc researcher to investigate the role of heterogenous energy storage in Paris-aligned scenarios for the Irish energy system. He is currently working in TU Dublin, leading a commercialisation project of thermophotovoltaic system for industrial waste heat recovery to help decarbonize and improve system efficiency of high temperature process industries. In the past, he led multiple large-scale solar power plant projects, had an experience of over 600 kWp on/off grid solar PV system installation and commissioning. He had a MSc. in Engineering Project and Systems Management from Kingston University London. Dr. Hussain worked on a feasibility study of concentrated solar power (CSP) with storage system in the context of Bangladesh with a collaboration between Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and Kingston University London. Dr. Hussain graduated from BRAC University with a BSc. in Electronics & Communication Engineering. He was the founding member of Control and Applications Research Centre in BRAC University.
