Personal profile
Research Interests
• Principal Investigator for the SR2 Project, an EI Commercialisation Fund project with a budget of over €188,000, to demonstrate a novel switched‐reluctance generator for use in ocean wave energy applications.
• 2010-2012: Principal Investigator on the LINGEN project, an Enterprise Ireland Innovation Partnership Project in collaboration with Wavebob Ltd. with a €280 000 budget . We developed linear switched-reluctance generator technology for use in a heaving wave-energy converter, and built and tested several lab-scale prototypes (1 kW and 2.7 kW) on the Blanchardstown campus.
