Research interests - care ethics, disability, access and inclusion in the built environment, sustainability, climate action, architectural pedagogy

PhD candidate researching care, disability and the built environment with TU Dublin Centre for Socially Engaged Practice & Research.

TU Dublin project lead for ARCH4Change Erasmus+ project, and TU Dublin SABE school lead for the national HEA HCI funded Building Change project - both projects are focussed on the why & how of implementing critical curricular change in architectural education in relation to both the climate and housing crises.

Highly Commended in Irish Architecture Awards 2013 Best Emerging Practice Category. Recipient of Arts Council Architecture Bursary Award 2011. Highly Commended in Irish Architecture Awards 2010 Universal Design Category.

Professional Information

Head of Architecture at the School of Architecture, Building and Environment TU Dublin leading on the undergraduate, postgraduate and professional suite of architecture programmes. Previously Programme Chair for the Bachelor of Architecture. 


RIAI Vice President 2020 - 2021, leading on the development of new RIAI Cultivating Research Scheme - connecting researchers, universities and architectural practices. Jury panel member of Irish Architecture Awards 2011, 2014 and 2018. Member of RIAI Architecture and Public Affairs Committee 2016 - 2018. Member of Board of Architectural Education and RIAI Registration Committee. Board Member Arts and Disability Ireland and VISUAL Carlow.
