Funding - (2023-26) Partner on Horizon Europe funded project, LOESS - Literacy boost through an Operational Educational Ecosystem of Societal actors on Soil health on increasing soil health awareness, by developing educational offers and training programmes addressing multiple actors, stakeholders and target groups connected to soil education. https://loess-project.eu/

(2015) Collaborator on EU Horizon 2020 funded project on Enhancing Responsible Research and Innovation through Curricula in Higher education (EnRRICH). €200,000 was awarded to DIT to develop new ways to build Responsible Research & Innovation into the curriculum, including hosting the Living Knowledge Conference on community-based research in DIT in June 2016 (http://www.livingknowledge.org/projects/enrrich/). 

(2015) SFI Discover funding (€33,998) for Campus Engage Participate Programme - Building STEM Capacity in Community-Based Learning. - (2011) Awarded contract by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) to develop four context/problem based learning resources – in collaboration with Dr Christine O’Connor, Dr Sarah Rawe & Dr Michael Seery (£50,000 sterling). The resources were trialled in 8 institutions and are now available on the RSC Learn Chemistry website.

(2009) National Academy for Integration of Research Teaching and Learning grant, “Research Awareness and Readiness Evaluation (RARE) of Undergraduate Chemistry Students” (€5,000).

(2005) Collaborator on SFI Investigator Programme grant, principal investigator Prof R.A. More O’Ferrall, School of Chemistry & Chemical Biology, UCD, “Applications of Biotechnology to Oxidative Biotransformations of Aromatic Substrates: Utilisation and Toxicity of Bioproducts”. (Funding to DIT, €132,000).

Research Supervision -Supervison of 1 PhD (2007) and 2 MPhil students (2008 & 2010). Currently supervising 1 post-doctoral researcher.

Publications over last 10 years (2014-2024) -4 papers, 5 book chapters, 1 editorial, and edited a book on chemistry education.
