Professional Information
Ciara Nolan is a lecturer in the School of Management, People and Organisations within the Faculty of Business, Technological University Dublin City Campus. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Ciara has previously worked as a Lecturer in HRM at Dublin City University and Ulster University, as well as in HR practitioner and consulting roles in the retail and hospitality industries. Her main research interests focus on the dynamics of human resource development in small and medium-sized enterprises, with a particular emphasis on professional service firms and the tourism and hospitality industry. She has published her work in outlets such as The International Journal of Management Reviews, Tourism Management, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Human Resource Development International, among others. Ciara has also been part of several teams that have secured research funding to inform national policy on management development in Ireland.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programme Coordinator, Higher Certificate in Business Management. Key responsibilities include ensuring all quality assurance and enhancement processes related to the delivery of the programme are successfully completed. This includes convening and chairing programme team meetings, running examination and progress/award boards, completion of annual programme enhancement report, collating feedback from programme team members, year tutors and student representatives, student inductions and pastoral support, ensuring students are provided with a student handbook with required information, including assessment schedules, collating programme documentation as required.
- Module Coordinator role: teaching, assessing and monitoring modules across a range of management and HRM undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including lecturing, tutoring, leading practical seminar activities, managing the assessment process including designing and grading projects and presentations, setting and grading examination papers, liaising with external examiners, dissertation and project supervision, and advising students on course requirements.
