My research interests lie at the intersection of sustainable supply chain management, EU law and labour rights in global production networks. My doctoral research examines the extent to which the European Union can and should support the achievement of living wages for garment workers within the EU, with particular attention to the structural characteristics of buyer-driven supply chains and the persistent inequalities experienced by workers in lower-wage Member States. I explore the limitations of corporate social responsibility, voluntary sustainability initiatives and existing legislative approaches, and consider the scope for more effective EU-level regulatory intervention.

My wider research interests include responsible business conduct, corporate accountability, decent work, social sustainability, global value chains and the circular economy. I am particularly interested in how law, public regulation and private governance can address the social and environmental harms associated with contemporary supply chains.

My work also examines Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education, including the role of authentic and action-oriented assessment in developing sustainability literacy and enabling students to engage with real-world sustainability challenges.

I have more than 20 years’ experience teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Supply Chain Management , Law and Sustainability Leadership. My teaching connects academic theory with contemporary business, policy and societal challenges, using real-world case studies, industry examples and authentic assessment to develop students’ critical thinking, problem-solving and sustainability competencies.

I have designed and led modules including Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Leading Sustainability, Circular Supply Chains and Hacking4Sustainability. I have also contributed to programme development, validation, academic quality assurance and accreditation processes, including the alignment of curricula, learning outcomes and assessment strategies with National Framework of Qualifications standards and AACSB requirements. I supervise undergraduate dissertations and postgraduate research and have supported industry placement programmes at both programme and quality-assurance levels.

A central focus of my teaching is Education for Sustainable Development and the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across business curricula. I have secured funding to develop sustainability-focused modules and open educational resources and have contributed to university-wide sustainability initiatives. I also serve on the Board of Education for Sustainability, further supporting my commitment to advancing sustainability education and empowering learners to respond meaningfully to environmental and social challenges.

I currently serve as a Director and Company Secretary of Education for Sustainability, a national not-for-profit social enterprise that advances climate literacy and action across schools, communities and businesses. In this role, I contribute to the organisation’s governance, strategic development and regulatory compliance, drawing on my experience in sustainability education, higher education and sustainable supply chain management.
