Dr Aíne Conaghan is an Assistant Lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Technological University Dublin. After an early period in academia following the completion of her PhD in 2013, she spent several years working internationally in industry and self‑employment across Ireland, France, and New Zealand. This professional foundation has broadened her perspective and underpins her commitment to an applied, industry‑engaged, and student‑centred approach to teaching.

Aíne is currently based on the TU Dublin–Hainan University joint programme in Haikou, contributing to transnational education within the BSc in Event Management. Her early research and publications focus on the sustainable management of tourism destinations, reflecting her long‑standing commitment to responsible, place‑sensitive tourism development.

Aínes work is strongly industry‑connected while contributing to academic quality as an external examiner for a masters programme and through journal reviewing. Aíne maintains an active commitment to lifelong learning, continually upskilling to bring fresh, relevant, and practice‑aligned perspectives that ensure her teaching remains responsive to evolving student and industry needs.
