Professional Information

Dr. Aimee Byrne is a Sustainability Education Lead at TU Dublin, and was previously a Civil / Structural Engineering Lecturer. Her research has focused on sustainability in the built environment since 2009. Her current interests include sustainability education, circularity, bio-based materials, retrofit, building physics, and energy efficiency. She is the Head of the TU Dublin Bio- and Circular Economies Research Group which is a multidisciplinary team of ~40. She has, thus far, collaborated with national representative organisations, large corporations, SMEs and start-up, and is currently working on projects funded by DAFM, SEAI, TU Dublin and EUt+.  Her reputation has earned her a place on committees for The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), Engineers Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and 2 EU COST Actions.
