Professional Information
Dr Kenny is Head of Apprenticeship, School of Mechanical Engineering in the Technological University Dublin. Commenced his academic career in DIT, Bolton St., in 1996. Has worked with apprentices, undergraduates, and postgraduates. Also taught in Trinity College Dublin and is currently an External Examiner for the School of Education PhD candidates. Organiser for the Apprenticeship Research Studies and Lead Researcher in EU projects, Green Skills Pathways-Micro-credentials and Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Smart Clothing. Research interests; education and training systems, apprenticeship, work based learning, green skills, sustainability, qualifications frameworks, industry 4.0, organisation of work. Managed numerous EU Erasmus+ projects and served as a nominee on numerous national committees. He received his Doctorate of Education from Trinity College Dublin and done his Masters and Degree in Dublin City University. He supports European cooperation, and believes in the importance of equality diversity and inclusion.
