Aidan is a civil engineer with an MBA and a PhD on the effects of urban air pollution on building materials durability. He has worked at various levels in engineering consultancy, energy supply and risk management. He is currently a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department at the Dublin Institute of Technology and Centre Manager of the Dublin Energy Lab (dit.ie/dublinenergylab/) where he manages a team of researchers working in the area of life cycle assessment, energy systems and energy policy. He has authored over twenty peer-reviewed papers and substantial reports in the energy policy area.
