Metricon Prism Spectrometer B

A Metricon Prism Spectrometer, specifically the Prism Coupler, measures the thickness and refractive index of thin films and bulk materials by using a laser and optical waveguiding techniques. It works by coupling light from a prism into a thin film, treating it as an optical waveguide, and then detecting the specific angles (mode angles) at which the light propagates within the film.
